Salem Community Hospital Expansion

Challenge:

To identify the best strategy for transitioning the hospital to completely private beds in the context of future inpatient and outpatient facility needs on the campus. In addition, Trinity was challenged to create a parking solution given the increased patient volume.

Services:

Market Analysis, Operational Analysis, Services Demand Assessment, Capital Development Planning, Programming and Space Planning, Healthcare Architecture and Interior Concept Design.

Outcome:

Trinity created a transition plan where four and five story patient towers with acuity adaptable private rooms were recommended. To address the increased parking needs, Trinity designed patient towers over a two level parking deck. The final design created 122 new acuity adaptable private patient rooms which included nurse stations and ancillary support spaces. The final design created naturally lit patient rooms and family support zones separated by clinical staff zones.
