Samaritan Regional Hospital Expansion and Renovation
Challenge:
To renovate the hospital to meet growing demand and to modernize the outdated facilities. A new vertical expansion to house a birthing center and ICU were also required. The project had to be designed and constructed in such a way that would allow the existing OB department to remain operational during the entire process.

Outcome:
A 15,645 sf vertical expansion and 9,304 sf renovation were completed. The second and third floors were expanded to include space for future ICU and Acute Care facilities while the 4th floor OB department was renovated and expanded to meet growing market expectations and demand. In addition, a 3,435 sf single story addition was constructed to house an emergency generator for the hospital. The design also incorporated a skylight and garden space within the department.
