Samaritan Regional Hospital
Challenge:Design, renovate, and expand the clients existing hospital while maintaining operations. In addition, Trinity was tasked with planning for vertical growth and creating space to house new, OB, ICU and Acute Care departments. Outcome:A 15,645 sf vertical expansion was completed, a 9,304 sf renovation was completed, and a 3,435 sf single story addition was completed. These spaces held the new OB, ICU, and Acute Care departments, as well as an emergency generator. Components of the renovation and expansion included an enclosed interior garden courtyard with new skylights, as well as an existing stair expansion to meet the requirements of the vertically enlarged facility.
